10 30W vs Honda MTF

My owners manual says to use 10 30W and the dealership says "Honda Manual Transmission Fluid, which one is better? Should I use a synth 10 30W? Not really worried, but curious.

the dealer around here says to put 5W-30, they say that's almost all they put in the trannies except some people that ask for MTF, they don't even keep MTF in stock, I have 5W-30 right now in my tranny but I'll be putting some MTF next time I change it

motor oil is OK temorarily but gets stiff (shifting) after 1000 miles or so. Use MTF.

Oops, I bought 10w-40 for my '93. I haven't put it in yet. Should I get 10w-30 instead?

10w-30 is fine.

Honda Brand is a little slicker,

Redline is the slickest. Some think it is too slick.

They should all be perfectly fine though, really it comes down to personal taste. I like the Honda MTF over 10w-30, but I have never used redline.

I have tried everything...regular 10w30, syn 10w30, Redline, and honda MTF. Just stick with the honda MTF...you cant go wrong.
