So I tried putting indiglo gauges in... all was going fine until I tried putting the actually gauges on. I tried stretching then "pop" goes the needle. yeah.. should've seen my face, I was furious! so I figured yeah I can calibrate one needle by myself. So I go on... "pop" goes the rev meter. Yeah so I figured I'm screwed beyond anything now. I took them off and put them back in the box. Yeah.. I'm going to get these installed professionally. I'm actually not sure what to do. I'm planning on going to honda and asking them to fix it. It's time for my maintenance anyway. yup... screwed up big time..

That really sucks. I am not sure if the dealer could just recalibrate the cluster, but I hope that you don't have to buy a whole new one. Good luck on the fix.
yea same thing happened to my friend...ending result was:
$650 for a new cluster, hope you don't have to end up with the same result.

It didn't break... it just came off and loose. So would I have to buy a new cluster?? I REALLLY REALLY hope I don't have to pay that much for one. But I mean $250 is better than $650.

I was about to do the same with my gauges, but then I relized that if I screw up, then I'm f*ucked if the needles break. Thats why I paid someone to install them
So as im instaling my gauges they dont fit... i moved the gass... up and down hope thats chill but my dad fukcing cut notches there horrable and they dont function well... i am having me installing new ones parents are paying lol... but shat thats some *** ****
Whatever you do, dont take off the needle. One of the biggest mistakes one can make in their lifetime....my friend did that with his MR2 while putting in new gauges....they havent read the same since, all outta wack.

This guy I know did I know did the same thing. He had to buy a new cluster for $250.
wasn't there a guy that paid a G for a whole new cluster from Honda?
I thought I f'd mine up with my white gauges, but they seem ok. I stressed em a lot, but I drove by one of those mailman/speed reader things and it was dead on the money.
Why so many people mess with on these guges man, i had no problem doing, i even did a few for my friend and went back and forward with my cars too, take out the old indiglow and add new reverse indiglow in
How exactly do you go about installing indigo overlay guages?
is there any detail DIY page on line with pictures to show you? I got someone to do mine and it works fine, but would like to know in case I have to take it off in the future.
I remember someone told me not to fluctuate the GAS needle, becos it won't reset back to where it was.
but both rpm and speedo will reset to 0 if you accidentally fluctuated?
If that's true, why can't we remove the speedo/rpm needles when we are installing the guage?

All of my needles were moved and it was able to reset after it was plugged back in.
Yeah i put mine in myself and the speedo is 10 miles fast, the tack is righ ton and the temp is right on but the gas doesnt work anymore. I dont know what i am going to do. I havent found a place that will isntall them and i dont know of anyplace that will recalibrate them. I dont want to buy a new cluster.
I have this same situation, maybe even worse . If Honda has to get me get me a new gauge cluster will they set the mileage to match the old one and could they possibly put on the gauge faces for me? I love my reverse glows but it sucks to have the oil temp and fuel not working.
This happened to me with my old car (95 Accord) and I was quoted from Honda like $600-700 or something like that for a new cluster. I just bought a used one from www.copartfinder.com for like $50-60 shipped. Dunno if it would be that cheap for the Prelude and judging by the age of this thread you probably already have this problem taken care of...
