WRITE UP: How to stop that annoying interior fan whistle

WRITE UP: How to stop that annoying whistling from the interior fan.

I was going to take the whole blower unit off the car, but realized that I could just take the blower motor out of the unit from below.
Therefore, ignore the fact that my glove compartment was removed.
You do not need to remove the glove compartment.

**** STEP ONE ****

Remove the side panel cover.
Just grab it on the side and pull it in the direction of the green arrow.

The panel is held in by a white clip and wedged in the back against a metal bracket.

NOTICE: Please ignore the soundsystem wires.

*** STEP TWO ***

remove the computer box as showed
DO NOT unplug the wires. There is no need to. Just push the unit out of the way.

*** STEP THREE ***

Remove the air hose by pulling them off in the direction of the green arrows.

Then remove the three screws pointed by the yellow arrows
The dash yellow area is pointed towards a hidden screw that is located in the back.

This is the air hose that was removed

This is the hidden screw that is located in the back of the blower motor.
It is a little hard to get to, but I found using a short screwdriver did the trick

*** STEP FOUR ***

Pull off the blower motor as showed.
I found a bunch of leaves and random pieces of paper inside the blower.
After taking those out, the annoying sound went away!!!

(See one of dead leaves trapped in the blower?)

FINISH!!!

Put everything back together and you're all set.

just to let you know, you will NOT be able to completely remove the blower motor from the unit without taking the metal box that is hidden under your carpet.

therefore, if you want to remove the blower from the car, take out your floor mat.
then lift up the carpet.
you will noticed a large metal box with brackets attached to it.
unbolt those and you should be able to move the box a little.....just enough for you to take out the blower motor from the AC unit. If you can, try not to unplug the box, but instead just move it out of the way.
(I haven't done this myself, but took a quick look at it.)

honestly, I do not think you'll need to remove the blower motor from the car....unless you want to take it apart and give it a little grease. (assuming your motor is dry and giving a squeeking sound.)

otherwise, you can do what i did and clean out the dead leaves from the motor's fan blads.

HAHA - yeah, us older folks aren't as lucky as you.

<<<jtown>>>
YAHOOO - glad you were able to fix the problem!!!!

i don't know how i was able to pull it out that far.
i just angled it and pulled downward to the point where i can grab the leaves and take a pic.
