I have a 2001 Honda Prelude.. I had to order a new driver side wiper arm because the old one got stripped out where it attaches to the car. There are small ridges on the bolt and the wiper arm but the new arm that I got doesn't have these ridges and it doesn't fit on the bolt. I'm wondering if it needs to be installed by a machine and that is what makes the ridges in the wiper arm or if I need a different arm with ridges already in it. Anybody have any clue what I'm talking about?
Other cars have the teeth in the wiper, whatever you do, don't try to force it. You risk breaking the bolt...which usually requires changing out the entire linkage....don't ask how I know
I took it to a shop and the guy said that the wiper arm actually is soft aluminum inside the ring and tightening it down threads it, so he just put it on and tightened the nut down and it is working fine. Thanks for your replies though!
