Windshield Trim

I am concerned about my windshield trim, and was wondering if there is anything I can do about it. I'm guessing its just becoming baked by the sun and lifting and is only going to get worst. I don't seem to have any leaks yet.

Just wondering if anyone has encountered this and found a way to remedy it.

In the pic you can see how the bottom lip has turned and lifted pushing it up in a small section. It is very easy to lift the seal, in the second pic.

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it leaking. The sealants they use for the windshields are pretty unforgiving...You can prob clean that out and reseal the trim with some silicone sealant, but I wouldn't worry about it leaking.

Actually there is a TSB about this issue. Next time you get a new windshield get the updated seal. The new part number isn't listed in the parts catalog only in the TSB. There is also a fix kind of for it. Sealer is to the added along the top of the windshield to help hold the seal down. The seal needs to bere placed every time a new windshield is installed anyways so just make sure they get the one listed in the TSB.

To get it to flatten out, leave it in the sun till it warms up, then use like a key to flip the one piece back so it lays flat.

This was very helpful, thank you both. I will try and flatten it out first, and consider sealant if it just wont do. Otherwise I will try and wait if I ever get a new windshield to get an updated seal.

Thanks again.
