i've always wondered the same thing about my iceman CAI. i think the AEM bypass valve comes in different diameters for different applications(civics, accords etc all have different size piping). So, if you're injen or my iceman have the same diameter piping (at some point from the filter to the TB) as one that AEM offers a bypass valve for, i don't see why you couldn't cut it at that point and stick it on there.

You just have to make sure that the diameter of your piping matches the diameter of the AEM bypass valve you are about to buy.

make sense??

FYI, some of the bypass valve were being recalled. and here's what i found regarding your question. quote from their website:
"AEM reminds its customers and consumers that the AEM Air Bypass Valve is designed and intended for use only with the AEM Cold Air Intake systems. Use of the AEM Air Bypass Valve in conjunction with any other system is neither recommended nor warranted and may result in, among other things, malfunction of the AEM Air Bypass Valve."

That just sounds like something AEM would say so you can only use their CAI. I don't see why it wouldn't work, its basically the same principle. Btw, how's the CAI extension on your injen intake? I'm thinking about getting one but i'm not sure if its worth the money if my regular intake is doing its job well.

its not gonna come in till tommorrow but i'm pretty sure its better than just a regular short ram.i dont' think it will be as good as an aem cai but close.its still gonna get cold air from outside.

I heard Injen Cold Air is better than AEM because it has thing swirls inside the piping to increase air velocity. Not sure if it really makes a difference though. And I wouldn't use a AEM bypass valve cuz I've heard of people having a little rubber thing getting sucked through the intake and into the throttle body and get stuck there from the bypass valve. So if it really is raining a lot. Take the 10 mins to make it a short ram again.

the rubber valve getting stuck and/or sucked into the TB is only for a certain batch of bypass valves made. The ones you buy now will be just fine. There was a post or i read it in a magazine that if you bought the bypass valve between certain dates, that they MAY be defective.

No problems if you buy one now.

also, supposedly the Iceman CAI, due to its shaping, has higher air velocities than the AEM CAI. but, both iceman and AEM produce the same amount of HP. if not exactly the same, MAYBE 1HP difference.
