I used to have a set of Konig Villains with a 40mm offset on 235 width tires. The front sat fine, but the rear fenders had to be rolled to allow proper clearance.

I used to have those 18x8 Heidfelds that SADWAP has now. They're 18x8 44mm offset. When I first bought them, I had 225/40R18 tires on, and my car was lowered approx. 3". It was impossible to drive the car, so I had the rear fenders rolled. The front were fine but they would rub the inside at full turn. Then I put on 225/35R18 tires, there was no rubbing (of course 'cuz I already had the fenders rolled). When I sold them to SADWAP, I was expecting the tires to rub a little with his approx. 1.5" drop. We put the wheels on his car and went for a test drive, to my surprised there was no rubbing. But you'll have to ask him to see if there's still no rubbing now.
