Originally posted by forthgeneration I got my AEM intake from www.importhorizon.com. And now Importhorizon won't replace it with the intake I ordered (I even checked my receipt to make sure I didn't accidently order a Civic one). So now I have to order a real Prelude intake again

Aaron,
Also just to let you know. That customer contacted us 3 months after he
had the intake. He needed to ready our return policy. He did not fulfill the
return policy in any manner (I.E. Time, Quality of resale able intake etc)
We hope that he understand this
Thanks

how come the intake still fit your car if it was for a civic?
also, how come you didn't see on the cover of the instuctions packet that it was for an 88-91 civic......i was going to order from importhorizon.....but now im not so sure

I think u should order it from them anyways They r legit and the guy waited way too long to return his intake. No wonder why they didn't give his $ back. I know they messed up but u had to realize that u got the wrong intake
i mean.......they couldn't have separated the intake from the instructions right? so the directions should have said on it.......88-91 civic......or did they somehow put prelude instructions into the civic cai box?
Honestly u r not going to get as good as gains (if any) if u buy a short ram (warm air intake) I would get the Cold Air for better performance
U r going to loose some low end torque w. the CAI but gain it back in the high end
Hmm thats odd, my car with short ram,18's and exhaust keeps up with cantdrive's car with cai, exhaust and header not to mention he doesnt have huge rims.
you can't really do a test like that and base the gains of the respective intakes based on those vague/shady results...its been consistently shown that the cai gives more gain over the short ram....nd realistically/practically it's feasible
I'd get it from importhorizon, that's were I got mine and my friend did too. Neither of us had any problems with them, the shipping was fast, and the price was great.
Originally posted by PREYLUDE I'm selling my 1 month old AEM CAI w/BPV for 190 + shipping. I have everything that came with it. Its silver and its in new condition.
The AEM CAI costs 200 plus an additional 40 for the bpv, which is 240.
I'm selling it for 190.
i never asked you to buy it.
sorry didnt mean to flame its just IMO cuz at importhorizon its $177 + $8 s/h = 185 shipped to ur door and i believe coximport.com and landspeedracing.com have comparable prices

Wow, thanks a lot man. The whole time I was installing this civic intake in my car I was like "This can't be a lude intake, this can't be a lude intake"
But the instructions were for a lude and since I am not that mechanically inclined I thought that maybe it was just my installation that went awry.
I guess it is my fault for finally realizing it was a civic intake too late. I'm sure this was an honest mistake on their part, and even a dumber mistake for me to not realize it was not the right intake. Import horizon was nice to deal with, but once you recieve the so called product they don't want to deal with you anymore.
One thing that gets me in their email to you is "(I.E. Time, Quality of resale able intake etc)" OK I get the time part, but "quality of resale able intake", WTF were they gonna do ?resale this thing?
If importhorizon was smart they would've paid the what- 100 bux for the dealer cost of an AEM or however much and just sent me a new one, the right intake. Instead they decided to say "screw you". And in the end they lost 195 dollars to the person in this thread that was about to order one. And they lost the business to one of my friends that was about to order one over the phone, and who knows who has read this thread.
Can I take them to small claims cour or something? It sucks arse to have to shell out close to 400$ for the right intake.
Oh yeah the prelude intake I ordered was $187 and the Civic intake is $179 I think. I think that entitles me to $8.00 that they overcharged...

too small, looks smaller in diameter, and barely fits (it's a miracle I got it on there).
