where is the diagnostic port located?

hello!
where is the diagnostic port(OBD2 port - for connecting car to PC) located on 5gen prelude? i have no any port on passengers side console.i heard that it can be under the steering wheel.but where exactly?

Is your car LHD? If its not perhaps its on the opposite side.

steering wheel is on left side.
i was looked on both sides,there is no port

What year is your car? Its not in the console, its under a piece of carpet that pulls up to the right of the console.

Why did you start another thread on this, its the same question as the one below this. The guy shows you exactly where it is in that thread. Just pull up the carpet there.

i understand what you mean.there is no port under the carpet.accually i meant that place un der the caarpet on the side of console

car is '98 H22A5, european

i found this post on hondacarforum.com, but i dont understand where is it under the steering wheel.maby someone has photo?

Maybe the European models are different, but mines right where the picture showed. MOST cars are under the steering column, pretty easily accessible.

You sure someone didnt put in an obd1 ecu and take the port out?

actually i'm not sure for this,but....
my friend has also prelude (5gen),but 2.0 non vtec and he also doesn't have phis port it that place

I dont think obd2 was mandatory on european vehicles till 2001. In the US the law was made for 96+ vehicles. Maybe they didnt put it in the euro versions? No idea.

On my previous 1997 H22A5 RHD Prelude, it was to the right (passenger side) of the centre console, a square carpeted area pulls off.

To the best of my knowledge, H22A5 are OBD1, not OBD2.
