Where can I get the OEM body lip kit for 97-01 Lude?

So I just bought my 97 prelude about 2 months ago and I've decided that I love everything about the car except for the black/dark grey plastic trim pieces that run along the bottom sides and bottom rear of the car. I think you know what I'm talking about. I really would like to replace that cheap plastic with the OEM body lip kit that Honda had offered for this car. Because Honda stopped making the kit, it' seems to be pretty expensive to come by. The cost of getting the full trim kit on Ebay was outragous after the cost of shipping was added. I see that many of you 5th gen owners have this OEM trim on your Ludes so I was wondering if anyone knew of a place where I could get this kit at an affordable price.

yup. get ready to bent over a barrel. Honda is very proud of these. You are looking at at least $750 for the 3 pieces, plus shipping from Honda, then add in the cost of having them painted because they dont offer them in nordic mist or silver anymore. Are you sure you can't stand the black sides lol?

Well, considering that I only payed $4150 for the Lude itself, I don't think that spending over $1000 on a visual mod is quite worth it...

Too bad that there doesn't seem to be any used OEM pieces for cheap out there.

I guess no one's willing to rip the OEM kit off of their car and sell it to me then huh?

Thanks for the props. I don't know how they feel about me selling on here though. I have asked some questions but no one gets back to me here.

^^^ditto, all they have to do is go look at your reputation thread on pp.com. Dont se why they would have issues with you hooking up people on prices.

I have gotten in trouble on some sites as the are sponsored by Honda Dealers. I have ran into that more on the Accord forums though.

FYI, the fitment of the OEM replicas on ebay is trash... at least the rear lip is.

Honda4Life is the OEM parts guru, he's got the best prices and actual shipping charges (not inflated like others). Check him out on PreludePower.com

Does anyone know were I can find OEM lip kits made from Polyurethane? The only OEM ones I found so far are made from ABS and fiberglass, i want my stuff to be able to take a few blows b4 they shatter.

The OEM kit, is THE OEM kit. I believe the front lip is urethane and is therefore more flexible. I have bumped into things several times with no problems. However, the sideskirts and rear lip are ABS. Either way, they are far better than fiberglass kits. That being said, I now have the VIS Mugen sides and rear which are fiberglass.

As far as cost compared to value of car. Its just a part of having an older car. I have spent over 5k in parts for my car. In another couple years, the car will be worth just 5k. However, Im perfectly comfortable on those cost though. I love the car even more now with the parts I bought.

If its too much for you to get the OEM lip kit, you can paint your current ones, or buy some from an SH owner because SHs come with them body matched...

The entire kit is eurathane. I purchased my entire kit from a PO member a few months ago. I lucked out and the kit was already painted the same colour as my car. Dont' bother getting replica stuff, you'll be pissed when it breaks on you. Do it the right way once.

I paid about $900 by the time I paid for the kit, had it shipped from the states to Canada, and had a sideskirt repainted. Im glad I put it on

Here's what it looked like after

Here is what it looked like before.

I have them on my car, they are made of very flexible fiberglass, however you still have to be careful. I agree that the fitment of the rear is poor, however you can barely notice it. You have to keep your plastic oem side skirts on however, the rear can come off.
