When u guys run the 1/4 Mile - what gears...

should I got up till. Should I ride out 3rd until the rev limiter or should I shift into fourth as soon as I hit redline in 3rd? I have intake/exhaust/header/pulleys installed. 17s rims. Any way - I want to get the best time possible, but I don't know if the 1/4 ends before or after I would hit my rev limiter in 3rd. Please help.

I have needed to shift into 4th everytime that I have ran my car. My car is stock though. Just take the car to 8,000 in each gear and see what happens.

Well since I have mods on my car I would probably have to shift into 4th, is what you're saying? Anybody else know for sure if I need to shift into 4th to get a good time?

Well you can not say that you MUST shift into 4th. But if you launch good and take it to 8,000 the you will need to shift into 4th.
When i ran my 1/4 (per Gtech) i ran a 14.7 @101.7 i know that the mph is off bye about 3-4mph but the time is just about dead on. And i had to shift into 4th.
And the mods have nothing to do with the gearing of the car the quicker that you do the 1/4 the more times that you will need to shift(in theory).
So you WILL need to shift to 4th.

Chances are he used the OEM Accord trunk popper or bought an aftermarket alarm with trunk popping solenoid.

I ordered the Accord trunk popping motor from www.manhonda.com . It cost me about 30 bucks shipped. Then I just went to my alarm/stereo place and they just put a relay on the alarm and that was it. But I installed the motor myself in the trunk and ran a wire underneath all of the panels and the side door panel to the front, under the steering wheel where my alarm brain is. It's really a simple thing and prolly my most useful mod, since preludes don't come with remote trunk even as an option.

Also - when I run the quarter, what RPM should I take each gear to and when should I shift. I know first all the way to 8k so that 2nd drops back into vtec, but what r the shift points afterward?
