I used a 4 lb. "mini-sledge" to gently TAP the sheet metal downward. Made 3 cuts with a dremel tool so that everything went downward in little flaps.

I wouldnt trust bending because if you put enough pressure on a panel to bend it... it may actually tweak other panels that are joined to it. I think the best way would be to us a die grinder and an angle grinder. Then get rid of the sharp edges around the hole. Use silicone tubing to cover the edges. Takes around 1-1 1/2 hours including taking off the bumper.

DUDE - Not flaming you - but take a look at the darn thing man!

I doubt that bending a piece of metal that is 0.5mm thick at that location is going to weaken anything in your car.

Plus the hole is already there. All you are doing it is enlarging it by about 1.2 inch around.

And if you look carefully the reinforcements that are around the oval gap and you are NOT bending the reinforcements.

I think what makes the AEM different IS the fact that is is a constant diameter through out the tube. Those buying AEM should already know that. If you want one that has a smaller diameter at one point, then go for the Iceman.

It is two different designs and you get the gains and loss at different points.

( the real answer is to calculate the surface are of the AEM vs the smaller point of the Iceman..... and see what is the difference)
