wheel questions and options?

Ok, since I bent my rim I am looking into getting a set of aftermarket wheels.

I am going to stick with 16" since I don't want to drop the car.

The stock tire is 205 50 16. I believe the offset is +55.

The wheel that I am looking at is the Motegi MR12 or MR8. I like both wheels, but the MR8 saves me around 2.5 lbs of unsprung weight.

First, will I really feel a differene in the wheel weight? Will losing 10 lbs total make any difference. I really don't plan to drag race but would like to do some SOLO II.

Second both wheels are offered in a +42 offset. So if my understanding of this is correct the wheel in be closer toward the rotor. Right?

Third, does anyone else have any suggestions for wheels that look decent and are around $125 per wheel?

Here's the link to the the website http://www.motegiracing.com/wheels.html

Thanks for your help.

Those Motegi MR8s look great! never seen them before. I don't really care for the other ones, but since you are only going with 16s, the MR8s might look visably smaller because of the lip... but anyway your decsion.
As for your questions, sorry but i can't really help you out, as i don't know much about wheels yet. I did hear though that losing one pound per wheel is equivalent to losing four pounds vehicle weight since it is rotating mass. So that would make a overall equivalent of losing 40lbs (2.5poundsx4wheelsx4pounds equivalent) if thats correct! Sorry i can't answer your other questions.

42mm offset might stick out too far out from the fender. you wont have much neg camber without lowering, so it may look kinda weird.... unsprung weight is a big enemy for acceleration, so you should always look for a lighter weight wheel than stock.

offset: higher the number = better, go no lower than +45mm. Higher equals closer while lower equals furtur out

I have had my grubby fingers on both and they are very nice indded. The offset for a 5th gen is +55 for the stock wheel and +42 will be just fine if you a. don't lower the car and b. stick with stock size tires. Check out my ride on hondaprelude.com. It is dropped and the rims are +42.
The only thing you WILL do to your car is remove the small plastic tab on the rear bumper cover. It is located near the point where the mounting bolt is that attaches to the lip of the fenderwell. Feel in there and you will find this. It can be cut off with a Dremel or a file.
Personal opinion-get the MR-8. I have the American Racing Carrera, which is also available as a Motegi and everyone thinks they are close to the Superlegerra (wish that came in 16"). Whatever you like it is your car.
