Wheel Experts .....quick question.

I'm ordering some 16" Rota Slipstreams and I have a tire question-

will 215 45 16 fit fine with a +40 offset?

and which od these 2 sizes has the wider tread patch?

215 45 16 OR 205 50 16?

I'm looking for the wider lower profile look, and I know nothing about tire size or fittment

I need help ASAP

Thanks

yep 215/45/16 should fit, you would want to lower your car so that the neg camber will make the wheel not stick out from the fenders too much. stock offset is 55mm...you are pushing 15mm outward + a wider tire so a big difference.

215/45 "usually" has more patch than 205/50's. depends on the tire design.

yeah I forgot to add that my car is going to be riding on KYB/AGX and Ground Control coilovers (as soon as TurboEvo ships 'em to me ) I plan on dropping it about 1.5 - 2 inches.

WHAT???

That's some bad advice my friend!! Y would u want him to have negative camber just to avoid rubbing? The neg. camber will eat up his tires in ~5kmiles!!!

What I would suggest is to try and get some rims in 45+ offset. I personally was going for 16" Sub-Zeros, but due to incorrect offset, I'm goin w/17's (offset of 45) instead.

An offset of 40 is gonna rub, especially in hard-cornering/U-turns, etc..

If ur willing to live w/that then go for it. Also, don't lower ur car more than 1.5" cuz chances are ur gonna need a camber kit as well.

lowered 2 inches no camber kit and nothing is happening to my tires??? Just rotate them often. I wouldn't change the suspension geometry with a camber kit.
