What is the value of my Lude!!??

Hi guys, I'm new on the forum!

I'm from Canada, and I have to say congrats for this forum....lots of good information, very nice forum!

Last month, I just found a 1998 Honda Prelude SH M5 with 3114 km........this is no bull ****, car has been in storage for 12 years and 67 k $ of storage because of a story with law.....previous owner originaly bought the car for his daughter who has now 12 years later 3 kids so he tried to convince his 60 year old wife to drive it....but she never learned driving manual....so he decided so sell it.....I just tought it was a good idea to tell you guys the story so no one is gonna say thats it's not the reel milage.....I've got all the papers and it's certified milage....

Now I'm driving the car since december.........now has 8400 km......

Here is a list of what maintenance I did to the car since I onw it:

2011-11-22 @ 4 137 km :
- Oil change (Valvoline 5W30 full syntech) OEM filter

2011-12-02 @ 4 959 km :
- Grease antirust traitment, 10 years warranty

2011-12-11 @ 5 733 km :
- Installed/balanced Michelin Pilot Alpin 205/55R16

2011-12-19 @ 6700 km :
- Flush down brake liquid
- All around braking system maintenance (clean, grease)
- New Rotor (OEM Honda, due to oxydation of the 12 years storage)
- New OEM Honda lower ball joints (safety recall)
- Ignition switch (Safety recall)

2012-01-04 @ 8398 km :
- New rear shock collars
- Flush anti-freeze, cleaning the system
- Oil change (Mobil 1, supersyn 5W30) with S2k OEM Honda filter

I was thinking about selling the car....since I never tought about buying a Prelude....I was more looking on the possibility of buying an S2k this spring....and my question is: how much do you think I should announce the car!!??

Thx guys

hello! welcome to the forum and thanks for putting in a good word!

your Lude is worth 10 to 12k easily. To a right person maybe 14k. That's American dollars.

Post some pics of your car, I wanna see what Canadian specs u have on there.

Don't have any pics of the car right now....it's winter in here and I can't wash my car outside....have to wait until I can use someone's garage!!

Could be next week....I'm gonna try to....it's been a while since I want to take some pics of the car!

Some dirt yeah....The car's still brand new...well almost, brand new with 14 years.....but the fact that the car has been stored in a warm garage kept it in an amazing condition...

Even the stock 1998 tires are like new.....and still good to go without any crack or something...

I figured that it's not only one winter that is gonna destruct the car....still want to stored it next winter if I don't sell it on spring....

I agree with the suggested value's posted earlier. My '01 has 43,000 miles and doesn't see rain, let alone snow! It's a toy and I just drive it for fun. Owned it since new.

The thing that bothers me when it comes to discussing value is the difference between what we see as the value and how little damage it would take for an insurance company to total it. I think the cost of replacing and painting a fender will "total" most 5th gens (yeah that might be a bit exagerated but you get the point!). So...you can buy it back from the insurance co. and fix it yourself and you end up with a Salvaged title and there goes the real world value of your car. What BS!

Sometimes I think I'll cancel coverage on my car and just carry liability. Probably come out ahead in the long run.

Sorry for the rant.
