What size tires?

What size tires should I get for 17x7 rims with a 38 offset? I have a 1.5 drop on my car. Will 215/45/17 work? Currently I have 205/40/17 tires. I'm just looking to get a little more protection for my rims lol. Looking to go with Toyo Proxes or Dunlop Sport Maxx tires.

205/45 or 215/40.

Feel free to use the Search feature next time.

With a +38 wheel, you've got to be extremely close to hitting the fender even with 205/40's. Anything wider/taller than that will probably hit the fenders.

^Agree, to a point. Slamming your tires into your fenders every time you go over a bump sucks though. With my +40 wheels, my tires just barely clear my fenders....it's so close I think the 2mm more offset on +38 wheels could present a problem.

Don't know what my rims offset is. I cant find it on the rim.. Bought the car w/ Function & Form Coil-overs. 17" Sportmax Rims. I have Cooper Zeon 205/45ZR/17 Tires.

The coil-overs are pretty much set as high as they can go (They are so tight I feel every crack & pebble I roll over), and the rear fender lip had to be bent up a bit and a small piece of the corner cut off to keep them from rubbing.

They are perfect now...I've been watching very carefully and no sign of fender rub.

But the car is LOW. I have to be very careful of deep potholes or pulling in /out of parking lots with a dip. I bottom out a bit. Cant go thru a car wash, the rail is too high.

These are just some of the things you gotta keep in mind.
