Been doing this game for a long long time. A tons of factors go into a like conclusion. IMO, lets conclude that compared cars are properly tuned to eliminate complications. also factor that each setup has $5000 or less invested.
EG chassis combos-LSV, B20V and ITR swaps will run up to 12sec. 1/4s. Local guy with a superb built B20v finally broke 12 last season.
Same for the DC and a little slower for the DB chassis.
For the BB chassis, they will NOT keep up with these cars. HOWEVER, say a 95 H22A Lude with $5000 WILL compete.
I have a 95 Si, one with a boosted H22a, and one with a built H23V. I love the H series motors. Both rape GT500s, ZR-1s, Carrerras, SS, WS-6, STis, EVOS...pretty much everything in town.
K series motors are "pretty much the same" as an equivalent Civic/Teg with an H swap.
BB cars are heavy, are stronger, are farther and fewer in between, but all in all, cost more to make "fast" than the latter.
In a nutshell, i am under the assumption you have yet to own one of these cars??? If that be the case, you are off to a bad start. Search the forum and you will see that these guys arent out for blood. They own a Honda that most of these kids either cant afford, or want to run with the pack and try to go fast. The Prelude, IMO, is in a class above the normal Civic or Teg. We arent trying to beat a dead horse here, more trying to further ourselves from the everyday Honda. Look about and you will catch avatars, links, posts and images of some of the most gorgeous, yet slower, Hondas the internet has to offer.
As far as gutting a Lude, we did gut a buddies BB6. It was still 6 to 8 cars behind me, and 4 or so cars behind Deans B20V.
