V8 push rod engines are where its at for power...good luck trying to get a prelude to run 11's

I think everyone realizes thats where the power is at. But this the insurance company doesn't know about

I would like you for once be positive about imports. Every God damn time you post it's negative. You used to love imports, now all you do is talk trash about them. I think it's something to be proud of to be able to beat some V8's. I agree with you in every aspect about V8 power is the **** and all, but for the love of god, for once say something positive. one other thing, no I don't think imports are way better than domestics, If I could afford insurance on one, I'd have one. I'll just be happy and thankful for what I do have.

I wouldn't be so negative if my car could actually take corners well...I mean I buy some suspension mods and I just get smoked by RWD cars...rx7's, vette's, miata's, a lot of stuff. I don't exactly like the 70/30 weight distribution.....also the lude isn't exactly FAST....I love the looks...but I just recently got in a wreck avoiding a deer....I came around a sharp corner and a deer jumper out of the trees...scared the **** outa me and my reactions caused me to swerve and miss it....well when I went correct myself to turn back onto the road...my car just plowed forward and didn't turn going 30MPH....granted I tried turning fast as **** but it just flew into the ditch...

Also I can't keep up for **** with my friends RWD cars in the turns...they just take off wether it be a rx7 or rx4...mr2 turbo...any of them just dust me.

That I can definately understand. My car has a lot of suspension work, and it still doesn't carve the corners like a Rwd. Sorry for venting on ya man. what really sucks is that all the mustangs camaros TA's are going to Fwd in the next 4 years.

Man I do diss Honda's a lot though...but the reasons from a performance view are soo legit...Honda has yet to make anything FAST and handels exceptionally well...everyone might say S2000 or NSX but in reality they aren't ****....ever drive one??? They are hard as **** to drive.

You come up into a corner....its a hard right turn..90° turn...and you hit it going 35-40MPH....what gear do you pick in the NSX or S2000????
Try hitting it with second in either car and it bogs down like a mofo and doesn't shoot out of the whole like the V8 monsters...and if you go into first its just seconds away from shifting....they are UNDERPOWERED.....Also for the price...come on...who cares about gas milage when its a sports car...obviously your not going cross country in a car that doesn't fit luggage!!!!!

I also don't think Honda is as reliable....I know a lot of people will disagree but I don't see as many Honda engines running as long as 350 V8 engines.....Everyone will argue with me I am sure but there are sooooo many 350 V8's running over 100K without a sweat from the 70's and still today....its unbelievable...even tons over 400K!!!!! I don't even see Honda's really even hitting 200K's..some yes all NO!!!!!

Thats why I get mad sometimes when I always come in 2nd to RWD cars....yes insurance holds me back from getting a flame breathing V8 that will run 10's off 4500 bucks without tuning...run 11-12's N/A.....and get 500HP while still getting 17-20MPG around town.

I don't hate imports at all....its just in my book they finish behind everyone else(domestics) when it comes to sports cars....sorry

Hey man im new to this board but i also see ur point when it comes to hondas vs v8s. crap, i know enough about v8's and what not that i own a 12969 camaro SS/RS with a 396 bored 30 over for just driving around, cruisin in the summer evenings. i own a 76 camaro back halfed, with a small block 350 angle block heads and two plates of nitrous with a ratchet shifter and a turbo 350 tranny. 9 sec car one 150 plate and one 250 plate. i love that car but when ur on the juice the ammount of torque will turn the car completely sideways and scare the **** out of you. it really does. its so hard to get it to stick. then when the night is over and im done at Ennis (D/FW area) i come home to my little 97 prelude base SS. yes its an autmmatic. cuz i really don't need a 5-spd after all the horsepower and testosterone the i use with my other cars, but i love my lude. its one of the most gorgeous cars i have ever owned. and for a 4-banger, its kinda quick, even if it is an auto. i may go ahead and mod the hell out of it. seems i got one of the good trannies. 70k miles on it original tranny and i drive the hell out of it. hard. the only sound that tranny makes is the normal barely audible click of the tranny switching into drive or reverse from park. not a loud clang. its the same noise u hear from other auto trannys. guess im lucky.... i just don't know enough about imports, to mod it. that and its an automatic.

peace

Simple equatin but expense and difficult to maintain. Turbo to run and Nitrous Oxide to spool it quick. Build up the motor to withstand.
