What Header/cat for SH?

Sorry to ask a question that has been asked so many times. I'm looking for a good header and cat. I am on a slight budget, but I want to use good performance parts.

I am thinking of going with the DC Ceramic Header (found on eBay for $265)

Also user monk3y suggested Kteller.com for the cat. They have a Carsound cat for only $80. What size do I get? They come in 2" - 3". Is this a good cat? I'll be using the Apexi exhaust.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

are you going N\A? FI?

kteller.com is a good website.

i cant really say what size you need, it depends on your goals.

2.25'' if you just want a better flowing system with only bolt ons
2.5'' if you plan on doing internal upgrades but keeping N\A
2.5'' to 3.0'' if you plan on going turbo.

but these are "my" idea's and this is just a guess since there isnt much information being provided about your goals.
a lot of people will have their own opinion as well.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm a newbie...so I'm just getting into all the Prelude stuff (I had a CRX si - so Lude is much faster). I want to keep the car reliable yet quick. I'm going to just put as many preformancebolt-ons as I can to start with. So far I have intake, and exhaust. So header and cat is my next step. I probably won't do much more than that for now.

Well...since your DC Header only has a collector that has a inner diameter of 2", and your exhaust is a direct bolt on for stock, I don't see a reason to get a larger cat than 2". ...now if you plan to modify the collector on the header and modify your exhaust for a larger inlet, then I would get a cat the diameter of the size you plan to modify the others to.

Yup the search function is beneficial! I rarely post questions at all because they have all been answered before from cutting the shifter to what tire size is the best

Also another reason why people look and don't reply is because they don't know the answer or can't make a suggestion cause the question doesn't apply to them.

My suggestion is to not modify a car you don't have yet. Some of us have found out that we prefer the stock components to aftermarket ones, but I suppose you'll have to buy a bunch of stuff, deal with the associated tradeoffs in smoothness, sound, and reliability before you can make the call for yourself.

I dont think there is any reason to go any bigger than 2.5" inner diameter, because i read 3" pipes can flow up to 900hp as i read somewhere so... here it is

"One 3" pipe can flow 900 HP, imagine that? We have dual piping and you want 3" piping? ... 3" piping is way too big and slows the exit speed of the exhaust. Not to mention it can create unwanted turbulence; loss of low end response & power too."
