I finally decided to try to sell my 1998 Prelude SH because of the ATTS and not being able to be heavily modified. Anyways, I haven't decided, but I'm debating weather I should get a base Prelude and turbo it after I sell the SH or to get a used 91-95 MR2 Turbo and just save money and fix that up. Anyways there are some flaws to each car. The prelude would be harder to make faster and would cost more, but can seat four people even though they could barely fit in the back. The MR2 on the other hand is already turboed but can be easily modified to be fast , but is only able to seat one other person. Anyways I'm 18 turning 19 and was wondering what are your guys opinion on the situation? I'd appreicate anyone's help on this.

keep the SH just find a way to take out the ATTS unit
if not
then get a MR2..they are cheap usually 7k - 13k depending on the year. Try to get a 1993+ MR2.. also be wary they are RWD and the engine is in the middle. So you will spin out at some point =[ so get good tires..and dont do crazy stuff in the rain.

Keep the ATTS...and enjoy the better handling... there is a reason why it is more expensive than the base!!! Unless u want to mod it heavily..then u might want to get a base...but sh wheels are the shizznitz!!! BTW...an m3 would also be an alternative...peace!
Stay with what you got or for something really different RSX-S. Why not??? Integra Type R anyone??? Toyota Celica??? MR-2 is okay but kind of a step down. It's fast and all but as far as style, the SH is it man. It's like the mini me of Ferari.
get the MR2..i have a friend "99prelude" who sold his lude and bought one....that thing is FAST..like 13s fast w/ just a boost controller + exhaust system..

GEt a car with low compresion .. then turbo it... or u can get a sleeper.... like a civic drop LS engine turbo, nos mos def you'll hit 12's hey my friend does ... And dam he breaks more necks the WWF
Originally posted by azndng rx-7 tt - my personal choice, cause i'm thinking of selling the lude for rotary - also cheapest to modify, and cheapest to buy.
supra tt - insurance- Good luck finding one in your price range
300z ugly piece of ****
3000gt-vr4 - ....ummm 3000gt are they suppose to modified to any faster?
i love the tt rx-7, but they're also the most expensive and hardest to fix...
Watch out for the RX-7's. The rotary puts out a buttload of power when turboed but their reliablility isn't that great. Make sure you've got some serious engine security (knock sensors and a comp that'll retard the timing when it picks one up) The thing that the blocks are sealed. When something goes internally it requires a complete replacement. Not cheap to do. They can be reliable, I just wouldn't want to have to rely on it every day, especially if it's heavily modified.
RX-7 TT - Has REALLY BAD reliablity problems.. just do a search and you'll find out. The engine gets so hot...alot of the seals break. So if you have the skills to upkeep the car and the $$$ then go for it.
Supra TT - ya..its going to be tough finding one for a good price
300ZX TT - shrug.. i dont think they look too bad
3000GT VR-4 - pretty heavy.. 3700lbs
keep the lude, and get a beater .. like a ae86 or miata!

thats a debate i think about almost every day...its like, well, i could keep my car because i know where it has been and i haven't had it for long, but i think im definitely keeping for about 3-4 more years barring wreckage/stealing. (hey, its paid for)
but after that.... should i drop like 6k into the motor and hope for 13s? should i do NA and get 14s and run a 50 shot? do i care enough about speed to do that? how badly do i want to hear a BOV (pretty badly actually)
you would still be baller with a turbo prelude...
but there is something about the MR2 that i LOVE. rarity, boost, rwd, mid engined....a lot of new stuff to learn im sure
we would all love a Supra....bpu would be plenty (t66 later!)...and its definitely the sickest thing readily available.
decisions decisions...... and for me...i doubt there will be any good mr2s left in a few years (readily)... kinda the same for the supra and 300zx...at the earliest ill get a car in 2005-6 (barring the unforseen)
who knows what will be out then.... i probably would have gotten a impreza if they had had them when i bought my lude (oct 2000)
but my options were limited (got a deal when my mom got an accord, plus i had a hookup, saved about 3 thousand)

most likely getting the BMW 8 series, already has 19s and then chipping it and getting shorter gears....oh yeah, and under warranty too...ETA is about 2 years though, buying it from a friend
aww...i can't believe your gonna sell the lude Justin. Anyways, i say get the mr2, that was my first choice for a car back when i was car shopping, but i ended up with a lude instead. Oh yeah...and if since your gonna be selling the lude, how bout sellin me your spoon bar for cheap??????
let me just say do NOT get a used RX-7 unless you're ready to buy a whole new engine. around 50K miles, the rotary engines start needing some expensive work, and that's when people sell them a supra TT 6spd is next to impossible to find (and even if you do, it's gonna cost some body parts) an M3 is gonna cost ya 50K+, and i'd say an MR2 is a step down from a prelude SH. wait a lil and get the 350Z!!! the engine's been out in japan so there's aftermarket parts already
