You can remove the exhaust manifold heat protection cover for a savings of about 2 lbs.

This is definitely the way I personally would have to go. I would chose to lighten the car to improve performance but some things like sunroof and air conditioning has got to stay!

Things I've done to lighten my car...

Aftermarket Exhaust & Headers lighter
Light Flywheel
Clutch is lighter
15" rims lighter
Small Drycell Battery instead of stock battery
Air Intake is lighter than stock airbox and resonator
Stock Drivers Seat replaced with CF racing shell.
Removed Driver & Passenger Air Bags (these things are heavy!)
Removed Stereo & Speakers
Removed Trunk Lining & Spare/Jack
Removed Cruise Control
Removed Center Console
Removed Air Conditioning & Compressor
Removed Brake Dust Shields
Removed Front Vibration Dampening Mass
Removed Rear Seats/Seat Belts/Rear Deck

Eventually, this car will be completed gutted and turned into a full race car. So everything will eventually come out.

But until then things I want to do in the immediate future include:
CF Hood, finish stripping out unnecessary components under dash (heater, etc), remove unnecessary wiring harnesses, take the sunroof & mechanisms out completely and replace with sheet metal plate.

Any other ideas on where to save a few pounds? Besides me!

Trunk LidYou gonna have that Dallas guy do it...how much? I'm interested too.

Hey bdb, what's up with that "Removed Front Vibration Dampening Mass." Does it make any difference when you remove it (besides lbs.)? Too much vibration for a Daily driver?
Thanks

a turbo would clear up my wait issues nicely..
theres a crashbar behind the front bumper could take that out for a whopping 12.7 pounds just dont hit anything --- then u can take the rest of the stuff out of your car like airbags dash door panels, leave one seat in it--or if u want to lighten it up real good pull your motorout and buy a hatch and put in there thats good for about 6-800 pounds of weight

It's about 12 lbs. I didn't notice any difference with it there or not. Car feels the same at idle and cruising...

What is this for? A fifth gen? If so I want one!! I wrote Fiber Images to see if I could get a custom one made, but (just like I anticipated) I didn't hear back from them.

I've got a hatch! And yes, it's awaiting a B18C....

But I love my Prelude and I haven't got it to a point yet that I feel it's finished. But then again, are these kinds of projects ever finished?
