What is this?

I bought my '98 base a few months ago and removed the mobile phone that the PO had installed. I thought that I found all the pieces but the other day I found a small, black, rectangular box on the very top of the rear window. Is this a phone related item or does it belong to the Acoustic Feedback System?
(alien tracking device??)

I had the same Box attached to my window on my 97' base. Followed the wire and it was used for an aftermarket alarm tha the PO had installed. My guess is it was a shock detector. Not saying that's what yours is but seeing how preludes are known to be touched by everyone and hardly anyone knows what they are doing anymore it's a possibility that's what yours is too. But I would verify everything before you go cutting wires. My post count is only 5 and I'm sure you want to see if any of the higher post counts know anything different.

It should be part of the Acoustic Feedback System.

Post a pic so we can tell you though for 100% certainty.

Yup, you are right. I was wrong, my bad.

In other words OP, don't remove it unless you don't listen to the radio.

Time to put away the "removal" tools and go on to wax and polish! Thanks for the info.
