Weird Tranny Noise - Honda Prelude Forum

I get a noise from my tranny usually after i disengage the clutch between 1st and 2nd. Its a sort of sliding, light grinding sound. Kinda like a metallic whir.

Maybe my tranny needs some new fluid. But my mechanic says for a manual its unnecessary. I'm @ 38K

any suggestions?

What does the owners manual say about changing the tranny fluid? (READ IT!) If your mechanic says for a manual it's unnecessary, what does he suspect the problem might be? Did he check the tranny fluid level? Does he have a solution for you?
