weird stock radio problem

Hello preludeonline! I guess first off i should say I am the proud new owner of quite possibly the best kept 1997 car i have ever seen. The car has only 30,700 miles on it and is in perfect condition. (Will post pics when I am not at work )

To the actual purpose of the post tho....

I have noticed my head unit doesn't like to put out any sound first thing in the morning. The unit itself turns on, spins CD's and ( other than the lack of sound ) seems to function properly.

I can hear the passenger door speakers pop when the radio powers on, but none of the other speakers make any noises.

The part that gets me is when I leave from work to go home around 5 the radio kicks on fine. I tried searching around on the forum but couldnt find anything quite like the problem I am getting.

To clarify the system is completely stock... probably good to know that .

WOW! that like 2K a year in mileage. Title reflects actual mileage and carfax? If so..you got a great car then.

As for the radio...check to see if the speakers are stock or if they have been replaced. Maybe a wire got pinched somewhere...if one speaker wire gets grounded..the whole system wont work. Maybe after the car warms up during the day, the short goes away.

Everything checked out the thing is legit. I was completely speechless when I saw it in person. I've got service records from (what i assume) was the first 3000 oil change/check up onward. Right before the original owner traded it in he got everything serviced that honda recommends (im assuming because it was a crazy long list haha).

I would be Very surprised if the speakers were replaced but it its good to know that one short messes the whole thing up. I was worried it was something head unit related. I appreicate your help marc!
