Weird Problem when Starting car

So, my car has been idleing iffy for a while. After i ran some fuel system treatment, and cleaned the IACV, it's still idled too low, but a lot smoother and no longer shakes the car. However, today when starting it something was weird... My car had only been sitting for about 30 mins, so it was still warm. I started it up, and the engine remained running but barely (at what looked like 0 rpms on the gauge). After about 5-10 seconds, it suddenly jumped up to 750-1000 like normal without me giving it any gas. Afterwards, it was still running like normal and the VTEC was strong... It's been starting iffy all day though, don't know why. Sorry this got a little long, but anyone have any ideas?

BTW: I was not out of gas because i've got over half a tank. It seems as though the engine wasn't getting fuel for a second though Help Please!!

Issue with fuel delivery? Bad tank of gas that has lots of crap in it, or clogged fuel filter? I've had bad tanks of gas that have made my car run rough. Maybe vacuum leak? Don't really know, just giving ideas.

Are you sure there is gas in the car?

Sorry, seems to be sarcasm day on PO.com. The fuel filter seems plausible...... or a clogged injector? Plugs or destributer cap?

I am guessing no CEL code?

Fuel filters don't ever clog on the Prelude unless there is crap in the tank.

Next time you start, turn the key ON (don't crank the engine yet) and listen for the fuel pump. You might need to drop the rear seatback. You should be able to hear a whine from the pump that is very consistent. If it warbles you may have an issue with the pump or the power going to it.

Tell you what guys... It seems to have been a 1 time deal. It was starting kinda bad... and then after it started really bad (the time described), I kinda opened it up on the road... (cleaned the bugs out ) Anyways, It seems to be normal now.. I'm assuming that something was clogged but that i unclogged it w/ the help of VTEC... hehe.

Thanks for the help though
