Weird exhaust rattle? - Honda Prelude Forum

My exhaust has been making a weird rattle lately. The exhaust sounds normal when I start the car, but once I get the rpms up it makes a weird clank followed by my exhaust getting suddenly quiet, then when the rpms drop back down again it rattles. It sounds like its coming from the cat, but I'm not positive. I'm not quite sure what it could be. Has anyone had anything similar happen? or any ideas as to what it could be?

Yea cat is toast! Mine rattled for a while until i got so annoyed i put it in neutral and

the hell out of it and i heard it completely fall apart!!! No more rattle for me!

I'm sure the honey comb stuff in the cat has gotten loose. Same thing has happened to me, so I just hollowed it out

Thanks for the help! I had planned on doing the same thing as you Prelude1897, but on my way to work today I pretty much floored it to pull out in front of a guy in a civic and it basically did the same thing that dallgire did. No more rattle, and my exhaust sounds normal again
