weird clutch problem

when i first start the engine, it usually goes up to around 1400rpm, and when i release the clutch, the engine RPM drops imediately to a bit lower than 1000rpm. and then it climbs slowly back up to around 1400. after that it's fine, and goes back to normal idle speed when the egine is warm.

how does the clutch relate to the engine RPM or the idle speed?? has anyone experienced this before?? thanks in advance.

my guess would be when the clutch pedal is down(clutch disengaged) the flywheel spins with no drag or whatever u want to call it, when u let up on the clutch it grabs the flywheel and since the tranny is still cold the clutch grabs a bit harder than when its warm and bogs the engine down and when u finish releasing the clutch pedal the rpm's go back up
