You people are pathetic, I can't believe people actually have to
experience their
engine oil(it's
only the lifeblood of the engine)dangerously low before they figure this stuff out(checking it when you let it sit for a couple hours). I mean, people, c'mon, does your cars longevity matter so little you don't normally do this stuff? Don't you want to make sure your engine is gonna last as long as possible? It's like some people think..."I'm gonna wait and do everything possible that pushes my engine to the limit, and
then ckeck the oil and let it WARM UP COMPLETELY"...
I guess this is what happens when you actually listen to your parents and colleagues and learn this stuff before you ever have to worry about it.
Here are some principal
I live by.
---Don't necessarily wait for the gauge to move if you're too impatient(it take too long), but after first starting car, let your car idle at its natural speed(DON'T FREAKING GIVE IT GAS SO IT "WARM UP FASTER") on its own for at least a minute, 2 min. if you live in extra cold temp areas.
---Don't rev, whether in gear or stopped, over 3500 rpm until your car is completely warmed(needle halfway on gauge).
---(I know this is inconvenient, but this is what I do)Check your oil(after it has been sitting for at least 2 hours) before you VTEC
any time!
Do you realize the damage of vtec'ing a cold engine when low on oil? Like I said, these sound really restricting, but this is just the way I operate my car.
But honestly, you guys should have known this long before you ever drove a car, much less let it be the way you actually run it.
