Vtec

so ive posted this b4 but got no help so ill try again im new so bare with me plz. ok i have a 1998 auto (i dont want to sell it) base prelude my engine will only hit about 6500 rpm or so it will not redline also when my vtec is supposed to kick in i can hear the exaust tone change but i get no extra pull and the only cel is for a o2 which i fixed. so any ideas on whats going on and how to fix it?? thanks

sounds like your transmission is failing. You know those autos are near guaranteed to fail right?

im pretty sure the trans isnt fail cause there is no slipping of any kind and it shifts very smoothly. yea ive tried it in 1 and 2 i have not tries 3 cause im not trying to get a ticket lol
