VIS Mugen Rear---Help!

Okay, I searched. And found that its fiberglass, and that it attaches to the OEM rear valence.

What I need to know is how tough is the install? How does it attach?

Is there a write up on how it installs? How long would it take roughly to install the Mugen rear?

Thanks!

You will probably want to have a body shop do it unless you are experienced with that sort of thing. My rears are attached by several screws and possibly some adhesive.

shik0me- Why would I have a bodyshop do it?

The OEM front, SH sides and rear would extremely easy to attach. I am just hoping that the VIS Mugen rear isnt anymore difficult.

Is the fitment generally nearly as good as OEM with the VIS Mugen rears?

fitment all depends where you get your mugen replica froms. The ones from VIS are usually pretty good. Install isn't that hard, but why not let a body shop do it for you if their already painting the pieces for you. But once again, install isn't that hard, only a few screws and maybe some double sided tape.

Okay questions about the install. For the rear sides, how many screws are necessary? I have heard that one in the wheel well where the mudflap goes maybe enough. And some double sided tape? Is this true, or should I put another screw in there?

What about the rear middle? Thanks.

if youre getting it painted by a shop, just let them fit it too...it might or might not need work to fit right

and you probally could of waited until you got the rear....it probally comes with instructions

Well, that's the thing. OEM parts are produced by Honda specifically for the car, so you are pretty much guaranteed a perfect fit. Not only that, but you get all the necessary hardware.

Order a VIS rear and you will get a piece of unpainted fiberglass. Generally the fitment is pretty good but not guaranteed by any means. Even the real Mugen is known not to fit perfectly in some cases.

A body shop will be able to correct any variances in the body kit piece and make it fit better. That is why I suggested having it professionally done. I have seen people with Mugen rears where they are literally hanging off the car because they were not installed properly.

BTW - there is no middle piece. For the best look you should get a body shop to paint the stock gray piece on the bottom of the rear bumper.

two screws for each piece should be enough, so four screws altogether and maybe some double sided tape. And you might want to wait until you get the acutal pieces before you ask some of these questions. And what rear middle are you talking about? The MUGEN rear is only two pieces, one for the left and one for the right.

Yeah...for me the body shop used 2 screws each side....one in the wheel well and one at the underside of the mugen rear...i understand that you can just use double sided tape but it didnt hold up very well and was afraid that it would fall while driving so i told the shop to paint a screw and screw it from the underside to the rear valence and its still un-noticeable unless you're up close and on your stomach so i guess its koo...i got the VIS mugen replicas and they fit pretty well...not exactly perfect but hey what do you expect

I also have the VIS Mugen replicas. One of the sides on mine didn't fit at all, so I used Fiberglass Panel Epoxy to glue them on(used for corvette panels). The line around the top looked like crap so I decided to mold them in. I eventually put two screws in each, one in the rear wheel well, one on the under side. If they fit good then just double side tape, and screw them in.

I for one don't mind you asking all these questions, its just that you post the same questions over and over again. These questions could be answered with common sense or with the use of the SEARCH buttom. But nonetheless, its all cool, we're a community and were all here to help eachother out.
