vin # explained

Anyone know where i can find out what my vin means? like what plant, production #, etc? found a site on FAQ board but only has up to 98 and mine is a 2001, I tried to use it but thy're not exactly the same.

U can try www.hondacars.com b/c they say something about recalls, etc. Might be there

The only difference between the 98's and 99+ and up is the year digit - that's it.

the 6179th prelude to be built, Oh hey what exactly does cat back mean? or stand for? i know its a type of exhaust but whys it different then regular?

Well you got your mufflers, then you got your cat-back or catalytic convertor on back to the muffler. Includes the piping essentially.

all preludes were made in japan they have the country code J in the begining
