ok i changed my frront brakes a few weeks ago. with the stock tires on the vibration went away. everything was fine. then all of a sudden about 2 weeks after i put my rims on the vibration came back. i mean this isnt a little vibration. if i hold on the steering wheel lightly it will shake my whole arm. any ideas?

I don't understand. Are you saying that the vibration started after you put on aftermarket rims? If that's the case, then you need hubcentric rings that fit your wheels to center them on the hub... That will cure the vibration.
well i would be cconcerned with the wheels being out of balance but they are less than a month old. i got a tire and wheel package. whats the chance they didnt balance them right before they sent them to me.
also, my tires had a red dot AND a yellow dot. i was always told that one of those dots was for balancing purposes and you were supposed to line the dot with the valve. anyway, if this is the case i think i found my problem becuase of the two dots neither are even close to the valve...thanks for any help

I have bought two sets of rims/tires that came 'balanced' from the distributor. Guess what ..... they weren't balanced. I would definitely not rely on them 100%.
I have no idea what the dots are for, but I have had balanced sets where the dots are opposite the valve. I have had a lot of trouble getting the balance perfect on my aftermarket wheels. Finally just gave up and went back to stock. No shake. Good luck.

just out of curiosity....what makes you think they arent balanced? i can see the static weights they used but it looks very ****ty. weights on top of weights.

I know they weren't balanced when I got them cause the vibration was cut dramatically after balancing them. After balancing, if your wheel still shakes, time for the rings.
Yeah, those static weights dont always do the job.
You can try having the tires re-balanced... But I would be willing to bet that your problem is that you just need hub-centric rings. You need these if the centerbore of your new wheels is not the same diameter as your hub diameter.
To tell if you need the rings... Take off one wheel. Measure the wheel centerbore. Measure your mouting hub diameter. If the wheel centerbore is larger than your hub, then the only thing holding the wheel on center is the lugnuts. If this is the case, you need to get hubcentric rings to fill the gap. Otherwise the wheels can move off-center around the hub as you drive. This causes extreme virbration - especially at higher speeds...
