Domestic market, or worldwide? In production currently, or ever? Normally aspirated, or forced induction?

There's plenty of 4-bangers that put out more than 240 hp if you broaden the range a tiny bit.

Not sure about this, but what about the E46 M3, it has a lot of hp/liter, is it more than 120?

E46 has a 3.2 putting out 333, u do the math

S2k with 240hp is it if you are talking about n/a I4 in the united states. frankly i don't know any V4 engine in a production car nowadays, almost all 4 cylinders are inline, the closest would be the flat four in an impreza.
