USDM to JDM fog lights?

What all do i need to convert my USDM fogs to JDM fogs? I"m gettin' a kit, but it is missing the interior harness... is that any concern? CAn i just cutt off the jdm light connector, and put it on the USDM harness?

Yes you can use JDM fogs on the USDM switch.
There is 1 more wire in the JDM switch, I think it keeps them on when your parking lights are on, where as the US version will only come on when your low beams are on. I did the same thing with mine b/c I didn't want to give up a switch to the foglights.

Is it possible to use the USDM HARNESS and SWITCH w/ the JDM Fogs??

I also think this is what the original question was. Not if you could use the USDM Switch w/ the JDM fog, but rather the above!

Yes you can use the US fog light harness with the JDM fogs with some modifcations. I bought a pair of JDM fogs and JDM brackets to hold the fogs. Everything else I used to install the fogs were from the US fog kit.

I modified the US fog light harness by cutting the wires on the orange and black wire on each side of the harness. I stripped some of the wires and crimped a connector on to each wire. I got the connectors from a local audio shop. So now you have connectors on each end and they can directly plug into the JDM fogs. I also needed to add some more length to the grouding wire in the middle of harness so that it would reach the ground area in the middle of the car. I cut that ground wire and used 2 butt splices and some extra wiring to give an extra length of approximately 2 inches just to make sure that it would reach the grounding area. This modification is pretty easy if you have done some electrical work before.

I know this topic has been discussed over and over again on this board but I just couldn't find the exact and clear answer. So sorry again...

Is that DoCBoM's modification to using JDM fog with USDM harness and switch was to make the JDM fog work the way it was designed? i.e. be able to turn the fogs on anytime you like; or to make the fog work the way the USDM's fog was designed? i.e. fogs go on only when the lowbeams are on. See the quote below.

I assume that the modification was to make the fogs work like USDM's but I'm not sure. I assume that the 2-pin connector at the end of the USDM exterior harness CANNOT be directly plugged into the JDM's foglight connector, and that's why DoCBoM needs to make a new connector to fit the JDM's foglight connector. Is that true?

Thanks!

P.S. Akimoto how did you make out using DoCBoM's mod?

Actually if you take a look at my page you'll see that all you need to do is slice a small piece off the connector and it'll work fine. I also re-wired the harness to work when I want the lights to work. The instructions can be apdated to any setup including after market fogs as long as you have at least a USDM or JDM harness.
