With all of the new talk about the UR pullies I was thinking about getting the UR crank pulley to go along with my AEM pullies I already have. Does anyone know what size belt I would need for this, or know where I could find out.
I am still a little uncertain whether or not I should get the crank pulley because of the negative view many members here have of them. I was wondering how many people are actually running the UR crank pulley and what your experience has been with them.
Here is a little background on my car: 98 MT 88,000 miles, AEM CAI, Mugen Exhaust, AEM pulleys, OBDII workaround, coolant bypass. I also drive a lot of miles to work (30,000+ last year) and this is my daily driver. I drive pretty hard but I don't beat on it.
What do you think? Yes or No? All of your input is appreciated.

The UR crank pulley and AEM access pullies may underdrive your alternator too much.....but no one haas tried it.....just measure the length you need and tell the parts store.....
SHould be the same belt since the UR pullies are usually the same size as the stock pulley. You could always use a tape measure and do your own math and go to the parts shop and get the belt.

The UR crank pulley makes noticeably better torque in low/mid range, it increases the drivability in everday driving.
How long have you had the crank pulley? Have you noticed any sideeffects?

You're talking about the crank pulley being the same size correct? How long have you had this set up, any side effects? Do you have a problem with the alternator like NXLude suggested might happen? Which set did you have first or did you install at the same time? Which gave more noticable gains?

yeah the crank pully, I have had the set up now for 200 miles. I havent had any problems with the alternator, and i installed them the same time. But i put all the mods on my car at once so i dont know how much the gain was. But i think im going to take it off anyway cause i dont like the fact that i might really damage the motor with it on there.

If you're talking about the accessory pulleys (p/s pump and alternator), yes the UR pulleys are the same size as the stock pulley, just different material (aluminum vs steel). But if you're talking about the crank pulley, then the UR is indeed smaller than the stock crank pulley, therefore it underdrives the other pulleys.

OK, so how much smaller is the UR crank pulley. I'm not sure that I am real worried about underdriving the alt pulley more due to MrManz experience. That is unless it is significantly smaller.
EDIT: I tried to send you a PM vwong but your inbox is full.

I replied to your PM already, but I'll reply here also so others will know about this too.
I didn't measure the two pulleys, however I remember that the UR crank pulley was significantly smaller than the stock one. It was very obvious. I'll take a wild guess (disclaimer: don't quote me on this since I have no actual measurements), the UR crank pulley is probably 75-80% smaller than the stock one.

hmm... That makes me wonder if i have a UR crank Pully or one of those crappy ebay ones. I think im going to take it off anyway. Its only got like 200 miles on it. SO i dont think much damage could have been done. But ill check it out. Thanks
