No lie. I'm in the US, so I am talking mpg. 30 in mixed city and highway driving each day to and from work. What a champ!

I didn't think i was this new at the game but...

Didn't the Type S only come with the vis. diff LSD? Only the Type SH had the ATTS... A couple times I've seen an ebay seller selling the type S motor and they've put "type s/sh" and the motor is clearly the H22A with a tranny that's got the LSD in it, not the ATTS.

So of course you'd want the type S due to HP numbers (220hp Type S v. 200hp SIR) and the availability of an LSD and the active ABS and lack of sunroof for lower center of gravity weight, etc. I think people here only like the SiR because of the red interior, whereas the type S had black leatherette with suede inserts and red stitching.

And as for the person that was talking about 4ws in the 5th gen prelude, didn't that only come on the VTI (vvt-i? vti-r?) model of prelude and not the SiR?

Just my $.02...

Oh, and to the comment on 30mpg in the city... I drove like you with mixed city and highway and never got better than 24mpg. Unless you are running on the skinniest tires ever (maybe 185/45/14 haha) and reduced the weight on the car by 600lbs and put in an entire flat undertray and ran some kind of tuning software that you could lean the entire fuel system to like 15.0:1 A/F ratio and ran the thinnest weight oil and shut off the engine while coasting and getting behind semi-trucks to draft and.... you get my point.

I'm not saying you can't get 30mpg in a prelude, I got about 31 in highway driving from ohio to el paso which was awesome, but throw in some stop signs and traffic jams and the fact you hit vtec "alot" is all the proof we need to say nuh uh to your MPG claim

I guess you got mixed up somewhere. Type S and Type SH have atts. If you are looking at ebay auctions look for the m2u4 transmission sticker.

SIR spec S has 220bhp w/ LSD.
