soccer3303 - For some reason, I felt a difference with it on than with the K&N. Oh, I took out my resonator as well and felt no loss in low-end.

SOKDO_SH - I bought mine used for $94 shipped to my door.

Hey what's up man..

yeah, I've got a Type-S intake with a K&N in it.. never had a stock filter in it to compare though.. it's nice enough.. it might have given a slight gain although I can't really tell anymore since I've had it on for awhile now... It's alot bigger than the stock piping though and the Honda service folks won't give ya sh!t about it either.. (and neither will most AutoX folks)

Heh my comment was directed to Silver.

Anyways just stick with the K&N. I mean if you buy the spoon filter its gonna be more than what u paid for the Type S intake. My friend who had both spoon and K&N said he prefered the K&N and it was cheaper as well.

I haven't felt any loss in low end when i switch from Type S chamber to Iceman. All I could felt was the gain in every aspect.

I have the Type-S and I'm alternating between the Spoon filter and a REV one. I'm happy with it and so is my extended warranty! anyways, my friend is selling the Type-S if anyone is interested but we're located in Canada~

Hey, for those of you that took out the resonator, when you take it out, can you put it back on later? Or is it something that once you remove it, that's it?

I have a spoon filter, but I'd say just get the K&N filter. Same thing. Also the K&N is easier to clean.

It's just the intake from a JDM Type-S Prelude.. it's a lot bigger than the USDM intake..

Here's a little graphic to help explain .. the top is USDM and the bottom is the Type-S:

Also.. here's a pic of one in my car:

Hope that helps!

The difference is only in the upper part leading to the TB...

R&D just had one for sale for like $160 I think.. I bought mine used offa eBay for like $100 though..

I've never taken my car to a dyno so I can't really say what gains there are from it but it's nothing major... it's not like you're going to put it on and be like "Wow!" or something..

Does anybody know if a Neuspeed strut bar will fit with the Type-S intake system?? I´m asking because the Type-S intake is boxier than the stock one. Will there be any rubbing or anything like that? Please help me out.
Thanx in advance!

I have the Neuspeed stut bar and it fits perfect. I didn't even need to take the strut bar off to put the Type-S intake on.
