i have 62,000 miles on my car, i need a tune up pretty badly. the dealership wants 600 for it. i dont know who to trust or were to get a cheap tune up.
First, what are they including for your $600. Second, what is you mechanical ability? The 60,000 mile tune up is pretty easy and cane done for the purchase price of a few fluids and a couple special tools (not required, but makes life easier).
Why bring it 2 dealership is my question? my mechanic did my 30K and hes been working on my car since i think he does a great job, better than going thru the hassle of dealers.. and their BS * no sir we did not put that scratch there * ohh sir your car is modifed due to this our work is not warranty * blablabla
it is kinda better to find a good mechanic at a local shop that knows what he's doing, that way,any mods u want to do to your car, your mechanic will know the history of it,and the dealerships are ripoffs where a mechanic will do the work for less and maybe even do a better job
first, i have no mech ability bc it is cold now and i dont have garage
second, i dont really know of any places around here that i can trust with my baby
same here. i take my bananna to this small hole in the wall mechanic shop where i know they do good ass work and the workers there are asian and mexican ( and they love to work on my car and ask me all these questions. and i trust there work)
they do the same work and good for cheaper..thats my spin on it.
dealers blow unless you have a buddy that works at one in the service dept and can hook you up.

Does your dad pay for your car?? and does dad own it?
If no 2 those two than the choice is yours go whatever, in dealerships they take your car for a joyride trust me, my friend works in a nissan dealership he takes modded SE-r's for rides all the time .
I had a quote from a local dealership for $585, so the prices sounds about the same. Try at least getting all the parts yourself and finding a local shop to do the work. I saved about $200 by not paying the shops mark up on parts etc... Ran me about 400 with parts/labor
i do the same, gave up on honda dealerships. they jerk you around too much and their work is sloppy. i go to a small mechanic shop there where the guys treat me rite and give me a good price (they also give me honest advise...tell me which parts dont need replacement). F-- honda service.
hahah yea f honda dealerships, the only reason i was considering sending it there was bc it is right next to my house and there arent my import specialist in my area also. but i think there is this guy 1/2 hour away.
what do i need for the 60,000 mile tune up. maybe i can get most of it at car parts?

pretty much just oil,oil filter, maybe air filter, plugs, maybe plug wires, might want to get your wheels balanced and an allignment also, just let your mechanic check everything, top off the fluids, check your brakes, valve adjustment if u want
some honda dealers do other things also like adjusting the emergy brake cable or something like that,is this even necessary at all at any mileage?
man f* the dealership as well. just look at the manual and you can basically do everything that needs to be done on a tune up. the only thing that should be done professionally is probably the adjustment of your valves only if its time
