Tune Up - 90k/105k Seal Part Numbers?

I searched but no one lists part numbers and I honestly have no idea which seals are needed when looking through the online catalogues.

I am about to do a massive online order for the 90k/105k tune up - T-belts, other belts, gaskets, manual tensioner conversion, distributor cap/rotor, fluids etc.

Yes I know previous threads state cam seals, front main seals, etc. There are 6 seals that I found when looking at the Camshaft - Timingbelt Section. I just don't know what I need.

My car does not leak oil (nothing noticeable that I can see anyways) at 93xxx miles. Since I will be in the general area, I would like to replace the necessary seals as preventitive maintainence.

Are these the seals that I should get? Are there others that I should get as well? If so please list the P/N. Thanks!!

Wawa congrats on your prelude purchase! Sorry I didn't respond in your thread.

Anyhow, you don't need to do the manual tensioner conversion. It is recommended by alot of POers to do though. So all you really need is the section titled Belts/Water Pump/Filters and some of the Distributor parts (cap and rotor). Then do all your fluids and necessary filters.

2,5,6,7,8,9 are more like dust shields.. they don't really need to be replaced since it doesn't wear out or anything, as far as 38 goes.. since you will have everything apart.. you might as well hit that up if it gives you a piece of mind

also.. as far as the valve cover gasket is concerned, you might want to get the "valve cover gasket kit" that will come with grommets, the valve cover gasket, and also spark plug hole boots.. if you take it to the dealer.. they just put some honda-bond on the old boots and re-use the grommets on the existing cover

on another side note.. if your car is a 99'-01', you might want to hit that micron filter up if you haven't done so.. if you search po.com.. there are write ups on how to change these out

wow.. i almost forgot somethign so important...

since you got everything apart in the timing belt area.. change your oil pump seal.. i say this because on my 01' i had the timing belt job done a year ago and now the oil pump seal sprung a leak.. so in order to get to the oil pump seal.. you gotta take everything apart... i know that you don't "have" to change it.. but ever since that happend to me 2 weeks ago.. i'm always gogin to have that seal changed anytime i have the timing belt done either by me or the shop.. once that seal goes.. it's not like it drips oil out.. it gushes out and there is no way to save the motor if you don't turn it off right away

tenzola - yes I have the micron filters. They are listed above in the massive list.

Oil pump seal...

Gaskets and Seals? Or just seals?
  • 15113-P13-003 Honda GASKET, OIL PUMP (A) Reference #4
  • 15114-PT0-003 Honda GASKET, OIL PUMP (B) Reference #5

And for the gasket kit.... ?? I am guessing both?

as far as the oil pump seals go i have no clue yet.. it crazy cold in chicago and i don't plan on working on the car till april so i don't think i'll be much help till then for the oil pump items.. but as far as those gasket kits are concerned.. it's actually neigther.. i don't know the part number off the top of my head.. but if you call a honda dealer and ask for the "valve cover gasket kit" it'll include the things i mentioned.. i think i might have the kit in the garage and i'll try to get you the part number when i get a chance

i know the oil pump seal isn't something that break often.. in fact.. i never knew it could even be an issue.. i had thought it was something else altogether when i called the shop that did my timing belt job. i explained the situation and i knew it couldn't be anything the shop did (very reputable shop that i trust implicitly).. and when talking with the owner a little more, i asked if he has ever seen anything like that before.. where oil just runs right out of the motor near the crank pulley and creates a puddle of oil right underneath it.. he said it doesn't happen often but he assured me that he has seen it and i'm not the first.. i'm sure that 9999 or of 10000 cars will never have that seal go bad and it just sucks that it happend to me.. but from now on.. whenever i have a timing belt job done.. i'm goign to make sure to replace those seals

i guess i really shouldn't even say anything about the oil pump.. it was more of an educated guess made between me and the shop owner.. but neither of us have even looked at the car.. i just had to towed back to my house and it's been sitting there.. but i don't think there is anything else that can spit out a quart of oil every 4 second onto the ground

Sorry to bring a thread back but as I'm also doing my 105k service very soon I would like to know about the main and cam seals.

If I replaced the timing belt and water pump at 70k, should I be concerned with the main seal, cam seal and autotensioner (since there were no tensioner issues at the time and later on). Would it be dangerous to wait until 130k when a new timing belt is due?

Y'all my car just hit 90k too. It's time for a tune up, you guys know any sites to order cheap water pump + timing belt, i'd prefer OEM honda stuffs.

TIA
