trying to find the trunk trigger

i'm just throwing this out here and hoping someone knows so i can save myself the hassle. anyway, i want to wire my trunk opened/closed trigger wire to my alarm. it's pretty easy to find it in the trunk bay () except i dont want to be running wires from back there up to my alarm brain.

anyone know off their head which wire controls the trunk trigger up near the wheel or ecu? for some reason i think they change colors from where its at the back and when it comes up front. and if i'm an idiot and its the same color, does anyone know where exactly this damn thing is up front?

You'd need the pin out for the alarm in your car, also keep in mind there's positive or negative for triggers. I had to wire a relay to flip my negative trigger to a positive for the accord trunk pop.

oh sorry about that, i'm not looking to have my alarm pop my trunk. frankly i think it's one of the lazier things to do unless your car comes with it.

i'm just looking for the wire that gets "hot" when the trunk is open and its displayed on the cluster. kind of like the door trigger (that switch in the door frame) wire, when spliced into the alarm it knows whether the doors are open or closed. i want to wire it the same way i did with the door trigger, essentially have it be a third door.

i havent had time to look for it myself so i was wondering if someone knows where this wire is hiding.

ahhhh i found that pesky wire!!!

i searched through the prelude service manual tonight (mostly light reading ) and found it. it's a little orange thing that leads from the cluster to somewhere. haven't actually looked yet. (it's section 23-62 if anyone is interested).

if anyone wants to try, and keywords for search:
trunk trigger; trunk indicator light; alarm; trunk wire;

well i managed to use the information that i gathered from Helms and wired up what i wanted.

Mini Write-Up
The "trunk open" indicator wire runs from the trunk through a harness by the right floor pan edge. It comes out near the ecu in the passenger kick panel.

Like mentioned before, it is a tiny little orange wire with a silver dashed line. It also carries a 12v+ charge.

What i did was i spliced this wire into the hood pin switch lead from my alarm. so when the trunk opens, it sends a charge down the orange wire and since it is spliced, into the hood pin trigger lead, effectively triggering the alarm. Simple way to get security for your trunk as well.

The fun part is that since the hood pin and "trunk open" wire are spliced together, whenever the hood is open the trunk light comes on. might come in handy or just be a neat side effect.
