I spend less than $2k on parts, but I also did "upgrades". It's not so inherently difficult, but you won't be prepared for some of the issues.
Hmm so what da ya say? Yay or nay for me with all the info I included? With my willing teacher and patience and time to spare? Also reason i dont want to sell car then buy 5spd, we fixed up a busted valve (motor. 3k) and also did some minor fixes on the car, although the fixing on the motor really encourages me to keep the car! Dont wanna end up w/ another messed up motor ...

It has died before, and we got it rebuilt, im just tired of AT and I don't want to go thru that again as well. But that would be the best option. How was your swap compared to a 5spd factory made prelude?

Well as far as the swap being done, was it successful to handle reliably as a 5spd even tho it was factory made as an AT? Or somehow did the swap make it better than driving a factory 5spd? (I've heard that a few times haha due to flywheel etc.) Also isn't it possible to sell the AT tranny if it still works??

Sure you can sell an AT transmission.
"was it successful to handle reliably as a 5spd even tho it was factory made as an AT?" Still not sure what this means. Handle reliably?
I do have a fidanza flywheel, so it is different than a bone stock 5spd base. I also have a PSPEC short shifter, so that's different too. It's pretty hard to find two cars that are entirely identical.
Engagement was slightly later than a factory car, but it is very close to OEM after I installed the braket, spaced the pedal more, and re-adjusted everything.
Haha sounds like a one-hit-wonder kinda thing. But do you believe it is reasonable to consider doing so to have your car the way you want it.
And also considering that too many 5spds out there are all f-uped?
Just curious, what made it so difficult? Much of it is bolt on's correct? Is it just time-consuming ?

If you have no other option and the means, go for it. Otherwise sell car, buy 5spd.
How would a 4th gen do in 5th gen lude? Know someone selling a 4th gen tran for bout 600 roughly 70k mileage. Only reason he has it cuz he swapped it out for an LSD tranny. What ya think bout it? Heard its has longer gears, so better for upgrading isn't it?

That price is too high.
The 4th gen will give you better acceleration and less top end.
Like I was getting at way earlier in the thread. If you are going to go to all the trouble why use some other transmission? If you wanted 4th gen gearing get a 4th gen prelude.
