Transmission problems with a '98 SH

I just noticed last night while driving down the expressway that my car is jerking when doing 60-65 MPH. It's not a constant jerk, but every 5-10 seconds it kind of stutters. It's a 5 speed and has 93,000 miles on it. I most certainly was not expecting the transmission to go out this early, and the extended warranty just ran out at the end of August. Could it be as simple as flushing the tramission fluid? To be honest, I'm not sure the last time that was done.

If it makes any difference, it was raining last night which explains why I was doing 60-65. When I was on my way back from the lady friend's house (after it stopped raining) I was doing my normal cruising speed of 70-75 and didn't notice the stuttering nearly as bad (if at all).

Any suggestions?

Why do you think it's the transmission?

Sounds more like an ignition issue to me - how old are your spark plugs?

Someone told me it was the transmission last night because they experienced similar issues. I'm not too sure how old the spark plugs are - are they easy to replace?
