Transmission Issues - Not Typical SS Issues

Ok, I had a blown SS tranny, I had ti shipped out and rebuilt. New Case down to valve body. Got it back and it dident have second gear. So we swapped the Silenoides and I lost third gear. We checked Silenoides A B C and pressure Silenoides. tested voltage and ground everything checked out. The TCU was replaced awhile back and I just took it apart and found some corrosion inside on the board. I found one for sale but it is out of a JDM Prelude. The sticker is blue and its a P5M-013 and mine is a P5M-A01. Will this work. is the JDM prelude the same tranny (M6HA) as mine?

I think the P5M is a 4th gen tranny (non ss). Can someone verify this?

EDIT: Re-read thought he meant he was looking at a p5 and his was an M6

The SS works. P5M is 97 - 01 including SH. The TCM that came out of the factory car was a P5M-A04.

Ok, for the umpteenth time, not all 97-01 SS are the same, 97-98 is one, 99, by itself, and 00-01. Yes, please try not to argue, but their were in fact 3 different SS trannies put into American ludes. Makes ure you have the correct ECU that came with the prospective tranny.

M6HA transmission with a TCU and a ECU that came from a M6HA car. im not stupid. its not the transmission.

since the last post I got the superseeded TCU. The issues are not corrected and I am still stuck. We finally took the transmission out and put it in another 99 "M6HA" prelude it worked fine 100%. now what .

Can you give me a source for this info? I would like to learn the details.

^They are really not different

Honda used different stall speed torque converters in the 00-01.

Well, if you can get an 01 to fit in a 98, you're a freakin magician. I know because I ordered an 01 off of a member on here, when we tried to install it, I was told it would not match up. However, once I purchased a 98 tranny, no problem. The guy i sold the 01 too, said it fit in his 01, no problem. A Honda mechanic at a Honda dealership showed my my old 98 tranny and the 01 side by side, the trannies had a couple obvious differences. The head technician informed me of the differences.

Solid, I'm not too far from you. this was told me by Honda of Covington in 02.

different torque converters and on 1 year the shaft speed sensor was non existent ... but an M6HA transmission is a M6HA transmission be it in a prelude or an accord.
