transmission identification

is there any way to identify a transmission without the vin? i have a swap in my garage and the trans im workin with has no vin but 3 "B"s stamped on the block of the trans between the starter and where the engine block goes. if someone could help me figure out some identifying factors id really appreciate it

im tryin 2 but i dont have the sticker with the code on it...im tryna c if theres a way 2 identify the trans without having the code

If there is no sticker then you can find the gear ratios then use the gear ratio master list in the FAQ to determine the transmission.

Or you could just tell us the swap and we could probably tell you what trans it is.

well im tryin not 2 take it apart n im tryna identify it b4 i put it in but i dont think its the original trans kuz it isnt a lsd trans

Where in that write up does it say you have to take anything apart? Or are you just that lazy because following that write up is the ONLY way you'll know.

All you need is the transmission out of the car which judging by your first post it is.
