tranny problems/idea

so im starting to think this m2b4 tranny i put in my car is beat

from previous threads you may know the problem with the randomly popping into gear and sometiems not getting out of gear and then sometimes just not going into any gear ever

Can i swap m2a4 parts into the m2b4, sorta like making a hybrid - taking the better synchros and such or will that not work

any anwser will be very helpfull thanks

edit: what would the benifits be of bolting on a H23 tranny to my 5th gen
has this been done? could i use the jdm lsd still?

Well if the tranny is beat then rebuild it. You can get ALL the parts that you need from www.gear-speed.com I have called them for parts for my M2B4 that i think is on the way out. 5th gear is acting up, sometimes it engages and sometimes not... I have had issues with reverse in the past as well. They had all the parts that i wanted on HAND!
I think that you can prolly swap the gears and syncros and shift forks from a m2a4, but i'm not sure... Do you have the Jdm non lsd tranny? That is what the M2a4 is... M2F4 is the usdm 4th gen tranny.
I beleave that it is very doable to swap the H23 tranny in the car. The major differeances are that the Ratios are "longer" in the H23. (I don't have the #'s infront of me.) Most of the guys that do this are Boosted Ludes looking for more time under boost.
You can not retain the LSD that is in your M2b4 in a H23 tranny. The OEM LSD has it own gearcase special to the M2b4.
Good luck.
Ken

I did this swap in my 99 and went with the (sorry dont know codes )95 si prelude h23 trans and i loved the gearing for a n20 car, but i broke it !!from what im told and first hand, the h23 trans is good for 6000rpms not ment for 8000rpms like the h22s where built for !If i could have the h23 trans back and it could handel the high rpms i would stick with it !!just my thinking, right now i installed a 96ex accord trans to get me by ,and i sorta like this combo also !!
