Tranny Problem!!! What To Do??!?!

I have a 1998 SS prelude, and the tranny has finally died (48000 Miles). I dont know what I should do. Should I get a new one? Level 10 or just let honda deal with it? Can I buy the rebuild kit, and get someone to rebuild it? What SHOULD I DO???? Please help...

if your car is under warranty, have honda pay for it. If not, and you are on your own. Level 10 it, and never worry about it again.

Yeah guys!!

What should he do? ? I'm around the same type of mileage as him, and am pissing because the day my tranny falls, i'm a dead man. I would just like to know the price to get his prelude up and running again!! ?? I've been keeping up with the options somebody might have in this situation. SS to manual swap? Level 10 ? or let honda replace the same crappy tranny again?

What prices are we looking at for each ? ThanX everybody

Order the PTS kit so when they replace the tranny they can put those parts in. i just ordered one and getting the torque converter as well.

www.levelten.com

-IMO u mine as well do the torque converter since they have to tear apart the tranny anyways. Takes off .5-1 sec

get a 5spd swap done. the most i heard it cost was 3grand. i saw some post were people paid between 2000-3000 for a complete swap with install. thats the best way to go if i had a ss.

Bend over and take it. The dealers either aren't aware of issues or don't care. I wish Honda would give you guys some support - there's been enough of these failures to warrant some goodwill on their part. Get the level 10 fix and vent on the dealer.

Go honda!

Here we go again...

Check out all the info needed... Honda Sportshift Complaints

If I were you, I would spend thousands to get a five speed swap, but you almost have to live in California to get it done.

Or buy a levelten rebuild kit. Aamco has rebuilt my tranny twice, and it's going out again.
