Tranny Options

I just got a 2001 Prelude. I figure with stage 2 all motor mods would be fine and be controlled with upgraded fly wheel press plate and clutch disc. But someone mentioned that the S200 gear box would fit? Anyone ever heard this?

You were already answered on this. No, the transmission from an S2000 (three zeroes, not two) will not fit into any Prelude. Please stop calling it an "S200" and please stop calling it a "gear box".

Stop listening to whomever is feeding you that bullshět and do some research.

This reminds me of the post about Stage 2 weight reduction.

okok...I got it you guys.... have your fun...i'm a beginner here!! Ok now that you've had your fun mocking my ignorance, can we get down to business here...lol. Ok I got it together, went to RPMNYC and they set me straight. So press. plate and clutch kit upgrade will be done. got it. We made a schedule for headers, fuel rail and pum with tune up etc. We did talk about downgrading the ECU so we can set the vtech to come in earlier. Now here is my question...my goal is to keep the car streetable for my daily driving, how significant is the difference between stage 2 and stage 3 cams (yes I know stage 3 needs springs and retainers)..but I mean real difference? Thanks in advance for your answers....

Let's say skunk2 stage2 vs. skunk2 stage3

The stage2 is more street able and has a fairly normal idle. The stage3 is very aggressive and the idle will be rough.

A few more corrections are required. First, you only need one header, not two. Second, the acronym is VTEC. Vtech is a phone/game console company.

Now, a few of questions. First, which header do you intend to purchase? Second, what is a pum? Third, which ECU? Fourth, what tuning software? Fifth, how much are you looking to spend and how much are they saying things will cost?

These corrections/questions are only designed to help you, not to flame you.

Thanks for helping me clarify my research. I've always just driven and had my mechanic do the fixing and recommendations but now I want to learn all the details for myself. I'm looking at the Greddy 4-2-1 header. I already have the APEX N1 cat back. I meant "fuel pump" when I said "pum"...typo. Next it ws recommended to go from the OB2 to OB1 ECU and we're gonna decide on chip style or tune up style (so I'm gonna be researching which is better). I don't have a completion date so my budget is spread out which means I can pump more cash in over time to get the right things the first time. Thanks for you response!

Stage 3 is seems appealing. But am I increasing the wear on the engine?

Yep, check the N/A library on rocker pad damage.

Instead of the Greddy, look at the Hytech replica.

Hey guys, I'm changing my engine for a younger engine. I got a qote for 700 for labor, is that reasonable?

I realised my 5th gear engages with a "gritting" sound even when the clutch is all the way down while changing, I was told I should just get a new clutch. Educate me...
