does anyone know what this code indicates? my lude is misfiring like crazy at low rpm and sounds like a lawn mower when i accelerate, even after about 4000rpm it misfires faster and most of the time it cant even crossover.
If only someone would create a forum for Prelude owners where you could search their experiences for the answers to your questions. That would be a perfect place.

^ the funny thing is i have full compression in every cylinder when its running, i did the compression test at idle
here are some more details; it doesnt misfire when i drive it cold, when it warms up it starts misfiring right away on take off, when i drive it for a long time it misfires/putts at idle, it does it the worst when the car is at running temp, the misfiring occurs more the more i push the throttle while accelerating, and it does it mostly from 1st(worst) to 3rd and maybe even 4rth when im cruising in lower rpms, it does it the worst from 0-3000rpm and sometimes after 4500rpm to whenever i shift, sometimes it doesnt even crossover into vtec because its misfiring so bad
mods: CAI, 2.5" axle back, chipped ECU, breather, battery relocated to trunk.. lots more i cant think of right now
i have got an engine code about the cat getting too hot, the light stays on
i'm going to change my throttle position sensor and see if it is still misifiring, my brother just told me the exact same thing happened to his crx with the same symptoms and he replaced the tps sensor and it ran like a champ after that
I was aware that it wasn't mentioned in my post. My reason for posting it was for him to follow the troubleshooting steps. Also, a quick search for the code will give results.

are you still getting the cel code?
did you reset it to see if it will throw code again?
I would look into the igniton recall man, that may be causing the miss
i erased the code twice and it still comes up after a day or two
fair enough, my apologizes go out to you Kronn, i didnt mean to second guess your post man....
Don't apologize. I don't have thin skin like pIERCE.
If you have the desire to call BS, do it. I make about one mistake per month. You might catch me.

then i would call honda about the ignition recall; when they sent me a letter in the mail about my recall when i called to ask how important it was they had explained to me that it can result in random misfires and other issues as the ignition is sending messed up signals causing the miss. check it out.
i'm going to replace the TPS sensor to see if that's causing it because its not going to cost me much and if it is that then its going to save me a lot of trouble, but if it doesnt i'll surely call Honda and ask about the recall.
ok so i took my car to the recall, they replaced ignition and everything was dandy..
car is still misfiring and i get an engine code that says the cat is getting too hot and sometimes when i rev i hear it rattling, i think it might be clogged or broken because i still have compression in all cylinders and all that jazz
can a clogged or broken cat be causing my car to misfire/choke like this?
edit: here are some more details i left out that i got asked about in other forums
it doesnt misfire when i drive it cold, when it warms up it starts misfiring right away on take off, when i drive it for a long time it misfires/putts at idle, it does it the worst when the car is at running temp, the misfiring occurs more the more i push the throttle while accelerating, and it does it mostly from 1st(worst) to 3rd and maybe even 4rth when im cruising in lower rpms, it does it the worst from 0-3000rpm and sometimes after 4500rpm to whenever i shift, sometimes it doesnt even crossover into vtec because its misfiring/choking so bad

I have a 2000 prelude, 170,XXX. Car died on the street, after towed back to house, checked spark, fuel and air. All good. Started misfiring, ran coded and got 301,302,303,304, P1399 codes. Ran compression test, cyclinders 1,2,3 all came back 180psi, but cyclinder 4 came back with 0psi? I also have an insane blowby issue, to the point that it blew the dipstick out and began spewing oil and smoke. Take oil cap off while idling and it looks like a volcano theres so much smoke. HELP PLEASE!
