Tires&Wheels

Hi all. New to the group. Bought an '01 SE in Nov. and hate the Bridgestones. Thinking about Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP in either a 215/45ZR/17 or 205/40ZR/17 on 17x7.5" I've read a lot of posts here, but haven't seen any on Firestones. User reports on TireRack. com are good, but none on a Prelude. Any thoughts?

Well, yes, the stock Bridgestone's are crap but that doesn't mean all bridgestone's are.. some of the best tires you can buy are bridgestones (Potenza S-03) .. I would recommend the Bridgestone Potenza RE730's if you're looking at the Firehawk SZ50's ... similar price range with a proven track record and darn good performance for the $$ .. a good number of people have used them on their 'ludes (myself included ) and they're recommended by a range of people from 'luders to folks with Supras.. can't really go wrong.

Only thing is that most people seem to have a problem with road noise on them after awhile.

Firestone and Bridgestone are the same brand

Anyways, I would agree with the RE730's or possibly Toyo T1-S and I think you can get Pirelli PZeros at that price.

Maybe the same owner but not the same tire. Bridgestones make more noise than a baby with a full diaper

Thats like saying Acura and Honda aren't the same brand. They are, its just a "badge".
