tire pressure calculator

the following site is nifty... but what should i fill in for:
-Front Weight Distribution
-Rear Weight Distribution
-Maximum Lateral Acceleration in G's

anyone know? anyone have a gtech to figure lat accel G's?

I'm not too sure how reliable the data is from G-tech. The numbers that you get from g-tech are inconsistent with quite a bit of variance, as well you need to accurately calibrate this. I haven't used it before, but my friend has one on his SiR and he thinks it was a complete waste of money.

Completely and utterly...



This is VERY dependent on the tire and it's sidewall stiffness. While you could "estimate" it within maybe 5-10 psi, it looks like this site doesn't do that very well!!! Even considering the expansion of air, that's still way too high.

It's because it's missing one very important factor (well maybe more). Rim size. We all know that as you move up in size, the presure goes up - so a 215 tire with 14 inch rim is gonna be a lot different than a 18 or 19 inch rim.

yeah I agree that it doesn't work very well... it would have to have a bunch more categories... ie. FWD, RWD, or AWD ----> rims size ----> temp ----> surface

it seem that the site was make for one particular car (porsche)
